Metsovella is a typical pale yellow semi-hard cheese. Produced in the cheese dairy of the Foundation in metsovo, in a traditional way from pasteurized sheep milk with an admixture of up to 25% of cow.
Has smell and taste fine, typical for the product. Its shape is cylindrical and the weight of 1.5 and 2.5 kg.

Baron Michael Tositsas (1885-1950) was the grandson of Constantine Tositsa, one of the younger brothers of national benefactor of Greece Michail Tositsas (1787-1950), who had settled in the early 19th century in Livorno, Italy. In 1831 he was awarded by the local Duke the title of Baron, for him and his descendants as a reward of great commercial activity of the family though tositsas. not maintained relations with Greece, convinced, after lengthy correspondence and personal contacts with Evangelos Averof to set up a charity to help the homeland of his ancestors. The Foundation was established in June of the year 1947, under the name "Baron" Michael Tositsas Foundation and has as main objective the development of the wider region of metsovo, whence came the founder.
